Cave de Vinhos

Cave de Vinhos

Discover our onsite Wine Cellar, the biggest private wine collection in Portugal, with over 1.200 references. Our sommelier will be delighted to prepare an intimate wine tasting or even a romantic dinner surrounded by the original architecture and vaulted ceilings.

For the true Epicurean

No one is able to remain indifferent when entering the Wine Cellar. Located about 8 metres underground, it is accessed by a stairway that, step by step, reveals an even more intimate and unique atmosphere.

The eight-meter-deep cellar is a testimony of the perfect temperature and humidity conditions required to harbour a collection of more than 11,000 bottles and over 1,200 references of the best wines from Portugal and around the World.

Our well-versed sommeliers guide guests through the nuanced flavours of various vintages during wine and cheese tastings, complemented by traditional Portuguese tapas, homemade bread and olive oil from Herdade dos Grous, Vila Vita Parc’s own farm and vineyard in the Alentejo.

Besides wine tastings, the Wine Cellar is also open for private dinners. A unique experience that guests will never forget, whether it’s a more intimate affair for two or a dinner with friends, co-workers, clients or employees.

Port tong method

“Decapitation” of vintage wine bottles

This 18th century method uses a special heated metal tong which, when applied to the neck of the bottle, breaks the glass cleanly with a soft clinking sound because of the sudden and extreme change of temperature. This is done without disturbing the cork, allowing you to enjoy the most iconic wine bottles of our collection.

Century-old vaulted ceilings

Our Wine Cellar gothic architecture features vaulted ceilings made with solid clay bricks, some over 150 years old, imported from Egypt, Austria and Greece, a perfect romantic atmosphere to appreciate some jewels as our Madeira Verdelho bottle from 1850 or our Château Mouton Rothschild 1er Cru Classé 1996.
